ACB Round 27
Eric Girard is no more the coach of the SIG. The management waived him and his assistant, Jerome Navier, after the home loss against Dijon. This was yet another in a string of poor performances in which the Alsatians scored only 18 points in the first half, and it is their 4th loss in a row. Three of those losses where conceeded at home, three of the four opponents still have a negative balance today. The replacing duet will be Olivier Weissler assisted by Franck Kuhn. The first is a former professional player who was coaching the young team for many seasons. Franck Kuhn was the physical coach and is also a player in the second team of the club. The decision taken by president Christ might also be based on a tumultuous relation between coach Girard and the team manager, Jerome Rosensthiel. Some tensions appeared a few weeks ago when coach Girard didn't get the joker player he wanted to add into his rotation when Kevin Houston's return wasn't going to be for a while yet. Girard took the team in 2004/2005, the year of the title. The former coach always managed to end the regular season at places 3 or 4 but for coach Weissler the main and only goal is to clinch the playoffs.

ProA : Dessarzin for 2 more seasons
*Despite a terrible beginning this season, Randoald Dessarzin could keep the trust of his players and of his president. The situation is now much better (but not safe so far) and Dessarzin signed an extension of his contract til June 2010. Dijon is ranked 14th and stands with a 7-14 record, improved by the last successes over Nancy and Roanne..Dessarzin is coaching his first season in France after a lot of seasons in his country, Switzerland.

NM1: Longwy joins Mulhouse, Charleville remains on top
The leaders continue their winning trend. Charleville did not suffer any moment against Andrezieux. In the mean time, the other top teams had bigger menus. Fos remained strong in Boulogne while Antibes took the game by four points in Bordeaux. Blois played at home against Angers where they impressed especially by allowing only 59 to coach Hay and his boys. The GET Vosges secured shortly two points with a narrow victory against the CFBB. Challans, St-Chamond and Lievin preserve their positive balance and a quite comfortable rank. The most important result of the week is definitively Longwy's win. By defeating Lille, the lorrains join Mulhouse at place 13, one win behind Lille, Bordeaux and Boulogne. And next Sunday (5pm), the Palais des Sports of Mulhouse will welcome Longwy for a crucial derby.
Blois 68-59 Angers Lorenzo Orr destroyed Angers' paint with 15pts and 18rbs plus 3stl and 4ass. Angers can regret its FT's unaccuracy: 5/13
Charleville 96-49 Andrezieux 120-18, such is the ranking score! Minet was the most efficient with 18pts (6/9), 5rbs, 7ass.

Boulogne 68-81 Fos Babou Cisse scored 30 ranking points (29pts 12/17, 4rbs, 4ass) to lift his team to the win despite Pierre-Joseph's impact (24pts 9/12)
Feurs 66-73 Lievin Important victory for Lievin which could count in the relegation battle. Lievin made it strong with a better accuracy (40% vs 48%) and a good Cilly (13pts, 6rbs).
Centre Federal 56-60 Golbey-Epinal Defense, rebounds, the CFBB wasn't far from a first win but Mdivani's 13pts, 4rbs, 3stl in 12 minutes were decisive.
Challans 100-76 Mulhouse Coach Masse, decided to replace Darryl Dora by Seth Scott (207-F-81, agency: Court Side, college: Portland St.) who comes directly from Vichy (3.2ppg, 1.9rpg). A good idea, the new US player scored 26pts (10/13). Adell reched the same amount but Mulhouse's defense was totally elsewhere allowing Challans to shoot at 66%.
Saint-Chamond 82-72 Toulouges The locals net a good win for their confidance. Massenya handled things: 22pts 9/11, 6rbs.
